Austin, in the mid 1990s, was very different, but one constant was the need for an honest, knowledgeable, and local window and door replacement company to serve central Texas. And that’s how it started: John Nelson Sr and his son, John Nelson Jr, began the venture as a part-time business in 1997, growing by word of mouth and providing exceptional service.
Over twenty-five years later, the company has expanded into high-end custom window solutions to the architect and builder community, and still is true to its roots in the replacement window sector.
Today, we are proud to have three generations working towards serving central Texas. John Nelson Sr. has retired from the day to day operations, but still maintains an active ownership role. John Nelson Jr. continues to manage Austin Retrofit, consulting on new construction jobs and mentoring the installation crews. Luke Nelson has joined the family business as a key contributor to our social media presence, as well as providing estimating and sales services.
The Austin Retrofit team has grown to over 30 full time employees by our simple formula of providing excellence and ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Our General Manager, Cody Marwitz, has been with John Nelson Sr since nearly the beginning and handles our day to day operations, as well as mentoring the next generation of window wisdom. Bryan McFarland, Field Supervisor, orchestrates the crews, lead by Rodrigo Sanchez, and touches every project with either clear preparation or job site visits, often both. Travis Churchill, Director of Operations, ensures constant communication between crews, customers, and partners, ensuring all are aligned and successful. Dan Barrett, Director of Sales, helps lead a team of fenestration professionals dedicated to providing wise solutions and expert direction on new construction and renovation projects alike. The New Construction team is led by Stevie Laube, who utilizes his extensive field experience to review details and support the efforts of our inside sales / estimating team of Mark Jubinski and Luke Nelson. The Retrofit team is led by Nik Uihlein, partnering with Michael Krohn towards expertly replacing old windows and elevating the aesthetic and efficiency of homes all across central Texas. Steve Laube Sr. and Danny Bustos lead our fabrication shop, where Sean Garcia and Warren Thompson create the Reynaers product with expertise and great precision. And three full-time crews of W-2 employees make the magic happen on both new construction and renovation job sites daily, utilizing their premier training, install expertise, and pride in their craftsmanship to ensure we exceed expectations and achieve complete customer satisfaction.
